Opening party- 24th November @ Culture Club Gallery, Soho, Central, Hong Kong

Michelle Frith and Rachel Stoodley

This combination show is a celebration of the friendship and art practice of two British Artists. Michelle and Rachel are exhibiting together for the first time in Hong Kong 10 years on from their last joint exhibition in the UK.

Their passion for painting, and fundamentally colour, unites their work and brings them together, showing their colourful response to Hong Kong in this vibrant collection of paintings and prints.

This exhibit of work is a fusion of my latest paintings, inspired by the dazzling lights of Hong Kong; it is coupled with a medley of prints from my former show, displaying the imagery that captured my creative attention throughout my travels.

‘A Year from Then’- 2008

SOLO EXHIBITION

18th October – 8th November 2008

Opening of show: Wednesday 8th October 6-9pm

This is the first solo exhibition of British artist Michelle Frith and displays the work she has produced during her first year living in Brussels. After making the leap from teaching art to producing artwork herself, the exhibition is a chance to see this collection of oil and acrylic paintings which seek to capture and relive the beauty, magic and colour of the places to which Michelle has travelled and the people she has met.

The collection is an amalgam of various subject matters, ranging from landscape to still life to portraiture. The thread running throughout, besides the obvious vibrancy in colour, is some indefinable quality each scene possessed to motivate her internal drive to recapture it in the form of a painting.a
